Concern as Fareham council tax rise soars – again

TWO conservative councillors have resigned after many years of service.

David Gillett and Jenny Wride stepped down from their roles at Havant Borough Council. A by-election will be held on May 2 to coincide with Hampshire County Council’s elections.

Cllr Gillett was first elected in 1998 and was leader of the council for nearly a decade.

Cllr Wride served her ward of Bedhampton since 2006. Cllr Gillett said: As a councillor and leader I was always striving to make a difference, particularly to those in areas of deprivation.’
