UKIP’s success continues as they take Conservative seats in Hampshire and now West Sussex.

WITH 42 seats so far the Conservatives have retained control of 71 seat West Sussex County Council but UKIP made big strides.

They clocked up eight seats with four in the Bognor, Selsey and Bourne areas including taking former council chairman Mike Coleman’s Conservative Nytimber seat.

Pieter Montyn retains The Witterings for Conservatives

Jeremy Hunt retains Chichester North for Conservatives

Francis Oppler retains Bognor Regis East for the Lib Dems

Conservative Simon Oakley gains Chichester East from Lib Dems

Council Leader Louise Goldsmith retains Chichester West for Conservatives

UKIP Sandra James gains Bourne from Conservatives

Conservative Margaret Whitehead retains Chichester South

UKIP Tony Sutcliffe gains Nyetimber from county council chairman Mike Coleman

Conservative Ashwin PATEL gains Bognor Regis and Aldwick from Lib Dems
