There have been rumours Transformers 5 is being filmed in the town after trucks were spotted outside the Royal Navy Submarine Museum in Haslar Road.

And now a yellow Chevrolet Camaro - the same car used for the robot Bumblebee in the hit film - has been spotted parked at Fort Blockhouse.

No-one from the Submarine Museum was available for comment but signs have been put up which read ‘Caution: Filming in Progress’.

Anitta and Richard Collier and their son, Ben, went to the museum to see if they could catch a sight of the stars.

Anitta, from Fareham, said: ‘It is pretty big for us - we’re massive Transformers fans.

‘I grew up with it and so did Ben and Richard.

‘We’ve been following them filming across the UK and we wondered whether they would come to the south coast.’

Ben added: ‘We’ve been watching all of the videos going up across the UK and didn’t think it was real.

Councillor Mark Hook, leader of Gosport Borough Council, said: ‘This is the first I have heard about it but I think it is excellent.

‘I’m excited to see HMS Alliance turn into a Transformer!’
