IT IS up to the community to decide whether a parish hall gets £500 of vital funding.

The Rowlands Castle Parish Hall has made an application to the East Hampshire District Council Approved By You Community Fund.

If it is successful, the cash will go towards the restoration of the wooden floor in the large hall.

Next year is the hall’s centenary and the floor restoration is one of a number of projects which are in the pipeline.

The application, along with nine others, will be voted on at an event at Horndean Technology College, Bartons Cross, on Wednesday, at 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Each applicant will give a short presentation and audience members score each application.
