Well-wishers have their fingers crossed for Gosport's John as he prepares for Invictus challenge
Ex-armed forces man John Shepard, 38, will be representing Team GB at the Invictus Games from October 20-27.
Well-wishers from across the town say they will be cheering John on as he competes in a number of events, from indoor rowing to the 4x100m.

Bradley Smith, 22, said: '˜Good luck John! Hope you have a great time, enjoy yourself, maybe even grab Team UK a medal or two.'
Kirsty Smillie, 36, said: '˜John is an inspiration and a fantastic role model for our community.
'˜He is showing strength and courage by combating PTSD with sport, and becoming an international athlete!

Gosport MP Caroline Dinenage said: '˜I wish John the best of luck in the Invictus Games later this month.
'˜I'm extremely proud that he will be flying the flag for not only Gosport, but Team UK. I will be keeping an eye out to see how John gets on in his events.'
Leader of Gosport Borough Council, Cllr Mark Hook, added: '˜Everyone who takes part is a tremendous example of what you can achieve through adversity and they should all be commended.
'˜It's great to see somebody from Gosport competing in the games and I wish John the best of luck.'
