West Sussex becomes one of the nation's first '˜mental health hubs'

COUNCILS, schools, charities, the NHS, employers and community groups are today coming together to help combat mental health issues.

West Sussex has been named as one of the first Time to Change hubs in England.

The scheme, one of four being launched in England today, is a partnership between organisations and new mental health ‘champions’.

Its aim is to improve attitudes and behaviours towards those with mental health problems.

Councillor Christine Field, the county council’s health boss, said it was a ‘positive step forward’, adding being part of the initiative would help to improve the lives of residents in need.

The project is part of the national Time to Change campaign.

It’s hope in the next three years a further 12 hubs will be created nationwide.
