SOUTHBOURNE’S library will close on Friday as new self-service machines are installed.

It is the latest branch in West Sussex to get the terminals – which help readers borrow and return books themselves.

The library, in First Avenue, will shut from 5pm.

People can still borrow as many as 20 books or DVDs before the closure or use nearby branches in Chichester.

It will then reopen at 1pm on Monday, February 11. To find out more call the library service on (01243) 642 111.
