A YOUNG people’s civic award is to be given by Portsmouth City Council.

It will be presented at the annual council meeting and mayor-making ceremony on May 20.

The winner, to be revealed on the day, has been chosen by Portsmouth Youth Parliament, which represents young people in the city.

The award is for someone aged 11 to 19 who shows commitment to helping young people, is a positive role model, and lives, works or is in education in the city.
