POMPEY supporters football team are looking for players to take part in a charity match on Saturday to raise vital funds for men’s cancer.
The team are due to take on their Watford counterparts in the bi-annual fixture at Porchester Football Club on Saturday at 10am.
But with the side four players short, the team are in dire of need of some fresh faces to help out – and raise more money for the charity ‘football for cancer’.
The charity helps by donating funds to families affected by cancer in some way.
The game coincides with football for cancer's own initiative where they are playing 10 games in as many days culminating on Saturday night at Moneyfields.
And with some players representing both teams, it promises to be a gruelling schedule for those taking part.
Mo Ahddoud, of Pompey supporter football team, said: ‘We are four players short so we would welcome anyone who fancies a bit of fun to come down for a game and to help raise funds for the charity.
‘The supporters team play in various competitions including WorldNET where we take on other supporters teams like Manchester United and Everton.
‘We are very grateful to Porchester Football club for letting us use their pitch free of charge as well as opening their bar and providing free food.’
Anyone who wants to play should text Mo on 07583 084125.
