A FORMER vicar from Petersfield is to become a Bishop.

The Venerable Chris Lowson, who was vicar of St Peter’s Church from 1992 to 1999, will become the 72nd Lord Bishop of Lincoln.

He is currently director of ministry for the Church of England, based in London.

During his time at St Peter’s, he was responsible for initiating the reordering of the church in what became known as the St Peter’s 2000 Project.

He was involved in the revitalising of the music at St Peter’s, the revamping of the parish magazine, and the establishment of a permanent parish office.
