BEAMING members of the 4th Portsmouth Boys’ Brigade are all cheers after a fun–packed activity weekend.

Around 18 members aged 8-18 from the boys’ brigade group took part in an activity weekend from earlier this month at the Fort Purbrook Activitiy Centre.

The all singing, all dancing weekend included arts and crafts, cooking and other challenges.

The youngsters steadied their nerves when competing in archery and air rifle shooting as well as taking part in rock climbing and initiative tests run by the staff on site.

The group used their cunning and initiative when embarking on exciting treasure hunts and pushed their bodies to the limit while taking part in a whole range of sports throughout the weekend.

The weather held out long enough for the boys and volunteers to enjoy the weekend.

They were given the chance to take part in the activity weekend thanks to the help of officers and helpers from North End Baptist Church in Powerscourt Road.
