Portsmouth church prepares for Christmas Tree Festival

TWENTY-six trees have been decorated and lit as part of a Christmas Tree Festival.

St Cuthbert’s Church, in Copnor, will have the record number of trees on show which have been decorated by community groups.

Visitors can go to the church between Friday and Sunday this week and will be asked to vote for their favourite tree.

Admission is £2 for adults and there will be refreshments and children’s activities.

It opens at 5pm on Friday followed by a concert at 7.30pm. Tickets for the concert are £8. On Saturday the event is between 11am and 5.30pm with performances by the Pompey Pluckers ukulele group and the Westover School choir.

On Sunday, opening is 1pm until 5pm. Father Christmas will be attending between 2pm and 4pm over the weekend.
