A CYCLING campaign group was commended at an awards evening for its scheme to have safer transport links in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth Cycling Forum was given a special mention at the Cycling Planning Awards last night. The group of cyclists was nominated for the Best Cycling Network Strategy award for their project - A City to Share.

The scheme set out a vision of a city where cyclists and pedestrians in Portsmouth can be safely accommodated alongside drivers. It lost to Southwark Council.
