A Cosham firefighter said the stand was ‘well alight’ when they arrived shortly after 10pm.

Fire crews were on the scene until 1am.

The firefighter said: ‘It’s a derelict building anyway so the main thing is the arson factor. We don’t know how it started but it did not start on its own.’

An arson investigation has begun by Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
