PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR BOMB ALERT: Historic Dockyard won't be rocked by closure say officials

HISTORIC Dockyard officials say the attraction won't be hit hard by its decision to close all day following the discovery of an unexploded German bomb in Portsmouth Harbour.

Dockyard spokeswoman Jacqui Shaw said: ‘It’s a really quiet November day for us, and this is a common occurance now in the harbour.

‘We are well prepared to dal with this.

‘We simply follow the Portsmouth naval base, because are are part of their footprint.

‘So Victory Gate is closed. But we have duty managers on duty to talk to visitors.

‘We have notified all the groups who would have visited today.

‘We are a well oiled machine.’

She added that it would be ‘business as usual’ from tomorrow morning, but visitors are advised to check social media for any changes and updates.
