Rail services on the Portsmouth-London line were severely affected today after a person was hit by a train near Clapham Junction.

South West Trains said the early morning tragedy happened between Raynes Park and Clapham Junction causing delays of up to 60 minutes to trains to and from London Waterloo via Wimbledon.

Services did not return to normal until mid-afternoon.
