Portsmouth maritime club hunting for shots of life below decks

People across the Portsmouth area are being urged to send in black and white pictures of their time in the Royal Navy, Royal Fleet Auxiliary or on shore bases.

The pictures will then be enlarged and displayed as part of the Queen Street institution’s new club house.

Everything from engine rooms and mess rooms, to laundries and kitchens are being sought as part of the appeal.

The closing date for submissions is Monday, October 31.

Images should be posted to the general manager, Royal Maritime Club, 75-80 Queen Street, Portsmouth, PO1 3HS.

Submissions cannot be returned, a spokeswoman for the maritime club added.
