The man clambered onto the top of a three-storey block of flats, in Milton Road, Copnor, last night but became stranded in the process.

A fire crew from Southsea Fire Station was scrambled at 11.30pm to rescue the wannabe kitten saviour.

Crowds on the streets watched as officers used an aerial ladder platform to bring the plum-faced pet owner safely to the ground.
