A woman from Somerstown, who wished to remain nameless, received a call at around 8.45am this morning from a man with an indian accent claiming to be from the computer operating system, which is owned by Microsoft.

The caller claimed that her laptop has several computer viruses, and tried to convince her to turn on her laptop and download an unnamed antivirus software.

The woman repeatedly asked the caller for the name of his firm, before the caller hung up abruptly.
