FUNDRAISERS from a solicitors’ firm have raised thousands of pounds for vulnerable people in the county – by taking on a gruelling rowing challenge.

The team from Larcomes LLP, based in London Road, North End, Portsmouth, completed this year’s Great River Race, in London.

The event saw the squad rowing 21.5 miles up the Thames, racing against 323 other crews from across the globe.

The squad, made up of Charlotte Cooper, David Sumner, Janice Ward, Kate Tidman, Lucy Linington, Mark Lucie, Natalie Courage, Paul Lee and Sarah Latham, had been training for months to complete the challenge and crossed the finishing line in 4hrs 1min 52sec, coming 302nd overall.

They raised £2,040 for MHA (Methodist Homes) which provides residential, nursing and dementia care services, to vulnerable people in the county.
