Portsmouth teenager to hold charity event this summer

A TEENAGER who was put off helping charities after a fundraiser he organised had to be cancelled is now planning another event for the summer.

Jordan Greenwood, 18, had organised a variety show for the British Heart Foundation last year but he had to pull the plug after the charity said they could not support him.

The then 16-year-old said he was disheartened and would not organise anymore fundraisers.

But Jordan, from Fratton, and his girlfriend Hannah Browning have changed their minds and are looking to hold a family fun day in Portsmouth city centre around the end of July.

They will be raising money for Cancer Research UK as Hannah’s nans had the illness.

Jordan, a keen magician, said: ‘We were really put off holding any fundraisers because of what happened.

‘But we’ve decided now we are a little older we want to help. We will stay away from big venues and will hopefully have stalls, music, entertainment and a raffle at this new event.’
