A THEATRE company is calling on volunteers to help with a Christmas festival.

Groundlings Theatre, based in Portsea, is after people to help with the Victorian Christmas Festival which is being held next weekend.

The event transforms the dockyard into a Dickensian winter wonderland with a Christmas market, snow-covered streets and a traditional Father Christmas.

One company has already pledged themselves to the cause and Learning Links wants other people to join in.

Zoe Gray, chief executive of Learning Links, said: ‘We see our 15-year anniversary as a particularly important one, so wanted to do something special this year and give back to help other organisations supporting communities in which we work.

‘When we heard that the staff at Groundlings could benefit from our help with the festival this year, we were very happy to help out in any way we could.’

Volunteers are needed from November 25 until December 1. To join in contact Fran Nicolson on (023) 9273 9496.
