Portsmouth University’s chancellor could be in a for a new challenge - as the new presenter of the Great British Bake Off.

TV personality Sandi Toksvig is one of the leading names linked with the show, which is to move to Channel 4.

The Danish-born presenter, who joined the university in 2012, has previously hosted shows including Fifteen to One and 1001 Things You Should Know.

Current GBBO judge Mary Berry and presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins have already announced they are leaving the show at the end of the current series.

Co-judge Paul Hollywood will remain as a judge on the revamped Channel 4 version, which is first expected to air in 2018.

Viewers who fancy a flutter can get odds of 12-1 on SkyBet on Sandi becoming one of the new presenters.

According to the website, the frontrunner is former Spice Girl Geri Horner at 5-2.

Sandi isn’t the only Portsmouth name to be included in the running though.

Presenter Davina McCall, who grew up in Gosport, is at 20-1 while comedian Miranda Hart, from Petersfield, is at 33-1.
