Now in its third year, the event has a range of stalls selling products from food and clothes to make-up and beauty products.

It also has live cooking demonstrations and talks for people either thinking about becoming a vegan or someone who has just started.

Victoria said: '˜We know that when people first become a vegan the first thing they do is change their food. But then there are others part of their daily life they also need to look at such as make-up, lotions and other products.

'˜This event is not just about food but about the whole lifestyles changes and that is why we like to have so much on offer.

'˜We also aren't here to pressure anyone into going vegan full-time. The cooking demonstrations are to show how people can get the nutrients they need and cook cheap vegan meals that are tasty.

'˜For some people who come along, they might be looking at having one vegan meal a week or looking to cut back on their meat intake.'

Victoria said the festival has two parts to it. The first is the 100 stalls from a wide range of companies and organisations while the second is the live talks and demonstrations.

Both will be available throughout the day to answer people's questions.

Victoria said the festival has grown since its launch and they expect this year's to be the biggest yet.

'˜We were all surprised with how successful the first one was,' she said.

'˜At the time we were unsure if it was a fluke but then the second year had even more people attend.'

Portsmouth Vegan Festival is on October 13 between 10am and 4.30pm. Tickets are available on the door for £3 and under-16s go free.
