Alan Sadler, from Southsea, fought in the Falklands War and did two tours of Northern Ireland and suffers from the condition.

The 58-year-old decided he wanted to raise money for PTSD and started his walk from Portsmouth to Edinburgh in July.

Alan finished his walk earlier this week and has so far raised £1,500 for the Royal British Legion.

He said: ‘I’m going to quite miss it. My highlight of the walk was walking the Northumberland coast. I thought it would be a lot harder.’

Alan added that apart from some blisters he had to get treatment for, he enjoyed a gentle walk with plenty of breaks. ‘I like walking and everything you see on the way,’ he said.

Not having a time limit meant Alan could enjoy the scenery.
