AN INVESTIGATION is under way to prevent a repeat of the flooding chaos seen in West Sussex earlier this month.

West Sussex County Council is leading the inquiry.

As reported, large parts of Bognor, the Manhood Peninsula and Southbourne were flooded.

Louise Goldsmith, county council leader, has sent a letter to every parish council in the county, asking for more information on the nature of the flooding and land ownership details.

She said: ‘With so many communities affected the investigation is going to take a while to complete if it is to be done properly, and I am sure everyone will agree that this is important.’
