There’s still time to join a programme which helps the next generation of artists and curators get ahead in the creative industries.

Futurators, run by Aspex and Portsmouth Libraries and Archive services, is open to anyone aged between 15 and 21 looking for a career in the arts.

This year’s project, People of Portsmouth, will see young artists and curators explore the history of the city through its archives, and commission an artist to create work inspired by Portsmouth’s diverse communities.

Futurators sessions will run every Thursday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Aspex.

The first session takes place today and welcomes the Futurators with lead artists Abi Gilchrist and Letty Clarke.

Other masterclasses look at curating, marketing and archiving.

The project will end in April 2016.
