Projects awarded £40,000 to improve area surrounding South Downs National Park

PROJECTS have received a share of £40,000 to enhance the area surrounding the South Downs National Park.

Butser Ancient Farm was one of the organisations to get cash and will use the £4,501 to create a mosaic floor based on an original from Sparsholt Roman Villa.

It is believed to be the first time a mosaic has been created using traditional methods in situ since the Romans left Britain.

Meon Valley Beekeepers were also granted £2,000 towards a trailer they can use to store and transport demonstration equipment to shows and events.
