This pub chain will pay you to drink beer and watch sports

A pub chain might have just come up with the dream job - they are searching for one lucky person to be paid to drink beer and catch up with friends.Â

Hungry Horse, which has pubs in Portsmouth, Portchester, Havant and Hedge End, is looking for the UK's first ever '˜Pub-licist'. 

With the one person lucky enough to bag the job will be asked to represent the pub in return for a £500 salary. 

What is a '˜Pub-licist' and what do they have to do?

Well first of all a '˜pub-licist' is one of the few jobs on earth that will encourage you to drink on the job. 

The Pub-licist will also be faced with responsibilities that will include, attending entertainment events at the Shamblehurst Barn, watching sports and playing the odd game of darts, pool or snooker.

As well as sampling the latest drink selection, they will also be required to make a number of visits to their local - in order to provide feedback and recommendations to help make the pub the best in the country.

Each task must be reviewed thoroughly and key feedback provided to management, to help the pub stay ahead of competitors and retain its role as the hub of the community.

The '˜pub-licist' winner must visit their local Hungry Horse pub five times. 

What qualifications does a '˜pub-licist' need? 

While no formal '˜pub-licist' qualification currently exist - the winning candidate should know their cask from their craft. 

They should also be a pro at pub quizzes and be a key player in any pub sports tournaments.

'˜So, if you fancy taking part in a pub quiz, sipping on a cold beer or watching the big game '“ all while getting paid to do so, then we want to hear from you. 

'˜We'd love it if the UK's first ever Pub-licist was from Hedge End!'
