PUNTERS at a city pub will be encouraged to dig deep this Blue Day.
The John Jacques pub in Fratton Road in Fratton, a Wetherspoon’s pub, is one of the latest organisations to sign up.
Bosses will be shaking a bucket and possibly holding a raffle to raise some cash.
Robert Newman, duty manager, said: ‘We are always more than happy to do any charity work here.
‘It’s important for the community. We’re a community pub in the heart of Fratton so we always want to get involved in local affairs.
‘It’s something that touches everyone. Tom was a local boy and it proves that it can happen to anybody.
‘That’s why the customers want to get involved. It’s a local charity and these are local people.’
