ENTRIES are now open for the Race for Life event in Portsmouth this summer.

Organisers are urging women of all ages and levels of fitness to walk, jog or run 5km or 10km to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

This year's event takes place on Sunday, July 24, with the 10km race starting at 9am and the 5km event from 11.30am.

There are other Race for Life events taking place across the county, including the Isle of Wight, Southampton, and Winchester.

Since it started in 1994, 4.7m participants across the UK have raised over 327m to fund Cancer Research UK's vital work.

Women in Hampshire can find details of the Race for Life event at raceforlife.org or by calling 0871 641 1111.
