THE University of Portsmouth is holding a special event to raise awareness of marine plastic pollution.

See Bin, Sea Change is a free evening open to the public to celebrate the introduction of the UK’s first Sea Bin in Portsmouth Harbour.

Portsmouth researchers will also be talking about their new project to design a floating bin to collect marine plastic pollution from the sea around the city.

Sea bins are lowered into the water and filter out pieces of debris.

The event will take place from 5pm to 8.30pm on December 1 in the university’s Eldon Building.
