Record attendance at Droxford station

Tony Williams, the owner of the former Droxford station in the Meon Valley who opened his gardens for the charity The National Garden Scheme last Sunday, has asked me to thank everyone who visited.

The gate opened at 11am and by midday more than 100 people had passed through. I arrived at 12.30pm and left at 2pm and more than 400 had attended. But by the end of the day more than 700 people had passed through the gates with a gross total, including plant sales, tea and cakes, of £3,539.39 raised for the charity.

In the three years that Tony opened his gardens, more than £11,000 has been raised.

Brilliant, and many thanks to all those who introduced themselves to me. It was great to meet you.
