A world-class air display team will showcase new moves at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month.

The Red Arrows will perform several new moves at the festival, which takes place from June 25 to 28.

In recognition of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain they will fly in the shape of a Spitfire.

They have a new team leader this year – Squadron Leader David Montenegro, who flies in the Red 1 position.

He has flown in a display at Goodwood three times before, when he was a team pilot with the Red Arrows between 2009 and 2011.

Now returning to the Squadron as team leader, the former Tornado pilot, 38, said: ‘The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a great occasion and it’s always special to receive an invitation to support such a large event with a display.

‘The event is an impressive, diverse exhibition of motoring through the ages, from classic vehicles to the present day and the future.’
