LETTER OF THE DAY: Nightmare scenario for our city

A CREW member taking part in the Clipper Race was taken off his boat after suffering severe chest pains.

Chris Drummond, 62, had to be airlifted off the yacht ‘IchorCoal’.

The Clipper Race is organised by Clipper Ventures, Gosport, and this year’s race marks the 10th edition of the global event.

Winds of up to 220mph off the coast of Nova Scotia made for a tricky helicopter rescue.

Chris was treated in Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Halifax.
