Rescue underway after boy swims to floating jetty
LIFEBOAT crews have been called to rescue a young boy who swam out to a floating jetty.
Portsmouth Lifeboat, the coast rescue team, police and ambulance crews are at the scene, near Portchester Sailing Club.
A spokesman for the coastguard said they were called at 8.29pm to a report of the youngster swimming out from near the club to the jetty and becoming stuck there.
He said: ‘If he’s wet and been out in the cold there’s a potential situation where he may have some form of hypothermia.’
Crews are still working to rescue the boy, whose age is not known.
