Corby Glen seeks bigger council

MORE than £2,000 has been donated to a rescue charity.

The Mayor of Gosport, councillor John Beavis, gave Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service a cheque for £2,300 on behalf of Gosport Bowling Club, which had raised the cash.

Gafirs chairman Keith Thomas, top sailor Dee Caffari and cllr Peter Edgar, of Solent Sea Rescue Organisation were at the club in Anglesey Gardens, Alverstoke, Gosport, on Sunday.

It was the last duty of outgoing club president Jack Wilcock, who had led the fundraising this year.
