THE sum of £1,200 has been raised for Macmillan Cancer after a Burns’ Night fundraiser.
The money was raised from Antonio’s Restaurant in West Street, Fareham.
Family, friends and customers supported the event and an auction took place throughout the evening with items donated by local businesses.
Lisa Murphy, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support in Hampshire, said: ‘The total is fabulous. All the people involved were so generous and showed huge enthusiasm and passion for this event.
‘I’d like to thank Alex Robertson and Antonio Pegopineiro for all their hard work and everyone else involved.
‘The money raised will make a huge difference to people affected by cancer.
‘This figure could pay for four people to receive the average Macmillan grant, to pay for everyday essentials such as heating costs, wigs, clothes, transport and many other items.’
