INSPIRATIONAL Rhys Clifford will jump on two wheels on Friday to raise money for a cancer charity.
The nine-year-old, of Shannon Close in Fareham, will cycle 10 laps around Blackbrook Park, Fareham, in aid of Brain Cancer Research.
He was inspired to raise cash for charity after watching a documentary about a young boy suffering from the disease with his mum Lisa Knight.
Since then, it has been the Orchard Lea Junior School pupil’s aim to help sick children. He organised this challenge on his own.
He hopes the success of this year’s cycle will lead to more fundraisers in the future.
Rhys said: ‘I’m looking forward to it and wanted to do this to help other children.
‘I definitely want to get friends involved next year.’
Friends and family have helped Rhys raise around £200 so far for the cause.
Proud mum Lisa said: ‘I’m just really proud of him. For a nine-year-old boy to do it off his own back is amazing. It’s special in this day and age. As a single parent as well, I feel proud to see what he has become.’
