A YOUNG motorcyclist is recovering in hospital after a serious crash on a rural road near Emsworth.

The 22-year-old rider, from Kent, suffered a punctured lung, a fractured collarbone and bruising when he came off his orange Kawasaki ER6 on the B2146, Hares Lane at Funtington at around 4.30pm on Saturday.

He was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital, where he remains in a serious condition. Any witnesses should call police on 101.
