Runner raises £1,250 for Rainbow Centre

A LONDON Marathon runner has raised more than £1,250 for The Rainbow Centre in Fareham.

Neil Hawkins, who is secretary at Portsmouth Property Association, put his body through 18 months training before completing the race in April in four hours and 28 minutes.

The marathon was the fifth that Neil has completed after running London previously in 1991 and 2005 as well as the 1999 New Forest Marathon and last year’s Portsmouth Coastal Marathon.

He said after the race: ‘I had cramp after 18 miles that slowed me down quite a bit but I am pleased to have completed this year’s race.’
