EMERGENCY services are taking part in a community safety day to meet and greet members of the public.

The Safer Gosport Community Day is returning for a fifth year in the high street, next to the town hall.

The event will have representatives from the police, ambulance service, the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service as well as Streetscene and Hampshire Fire and Rescue service.

It gives people in the town the chance to learn about keeping safe and as part of that, there will be free cycle coding and discounted cycle locks.

Stalls with information on projects happening in the town will also be available.

The event is on March 19 between 11am and 2pm.
