PEOPLE who work with children are being invited to brush up on their first aid skills.

Gosport Borough Council and Fareham Borough Council have joined up to run three courses for anyone who works with young people’s clubs.

Club coaches and volunteers are supposed to attend children’s safeguarding courses and first aid courses every three years.

The safeguarding and protecting children course is about how to protect yourself, the young people you work with, and your employer.

People can take this course on October 18 or November 22 from 6.30pm until 9.30pm. There is also an emergency first aid course which takes place on November 19 from 6.30pm until 9.30pm.

If you live in Fareham or Gosport, or work for a club based in the towns, the cost per person, per course, is £25.For anyone else it is £32.

The courses take place at the Gosport Borough Cricket Club Pavilion at Privett Park. For more information or to book a place call (023) 9254 5723 or e-mail
