Have your say

WE BELIEVE that getting old does not mean you have to stop being social.

Our charity, the Abbeyfield Society, aims to create a secure, comfortable and, most of all, social environment for our residents.

We provide sheltered supportive living for people over 55, with a communal family atmosphere but with the independence to come and go as they please.

We have homes in several locations and are unique as we are the only provider which includes all meals.

This means our residents can come together every day for a group meal.

We do everything we can to prevent social isolation.

All residents have their own private en suite room.

To support our charity we are having a table top sale on Saturday.

We will be selling items donated by our brilliant volunteers including good quality second-hand clothes and bric-a-brac.

There will also be home made cakes on sale as well as cream teas, scones and a tombola.

We would love for you to come and support us and grab a bargain, and many of the clothes are from just £1.

The table-top sale takes place at Abbeyfield Privett Farmhouse, 138 Privett Road, Gosport, opposite Queen’s Parade shops, between 10am and midday.

The money raised will go towards trips for our residents.

We recently took our residents to Stansted House Nursery and are planning to take them on a boat trip to the Isle of Wight.

We also buy Christmas presents and provide a Christmas lunch with the money which is raised.

Support for our charity would be wonderful and it should be a great event.
