Missing Portsmouth beauty therapist Sarah Wellgreen was not reported missing for two days after she vanished, police have confirmed.
Kent police are using a drone and searching drains as part of the murder investigation into missing mother-of-five.
Officers are treating the disappearance of the 46-year-old, who was last seen in Bazes Shaw, New Ash Green, Kent, on October 9 as suspicious – and are now searching the River Darent in Dartford Town Centre.
It has emerged she was reported missing on October 11, two days after she was last seen on the evening of October 9.
As reported, Ms Wellgreen was working a couple of days a week at Puresun in Elm Grove, Southsea. Her disappearance was branded ‘out of character’ by friends and family. Her eldest two sons live in Portsmouth.
On Friday Detective Inspector Chris Greenstreet, of Kent police, said a number of searches were being carried out in the area.
He said: 'Our officers are continuing to carry out searches, which include Dartford town centre and areas near Fawkham, in connection with the disappearance and potential murder of New Ash Green mother-of-five Sarah Wellgreen.
'Officers are being assisted by Kent Fire and Rescue Service personnel with their drone.
'In Dartford, Kent County Council contractors have assisted with the examination of drains and Dartford Borough Council have also helped officers with ongoing searches.'
He added: 'Officers have welcomed the response to the appeal for CCTV and dashcam footage but would urge others to please keep sending in any material they may have - that is footage within a five-mile radius of New Ash Green recorded on the night of October 9 to 10.
'Anyone with fixed CCTV cameras within a five-mile radius of New Ash Green, whether this is residential or commercial CCTV, and anyone who was out in that area on the evening of the October 9 to the morning of October 10 who has dashcam in their vehicle, should contact us.
'I would like to thank our partners and also members of the public for their ongoing support.'
Kent police said Ms Wellgreen's disappearance was not reported to them until two days after she went missing.
A force spokesman said: 'Sarah Wellgreen was last seen in the Bazes Shaw area during the evening of Tuesday October 9 2018 and was reported missing on Thursday October 11. She has not been in contact with her family since.
'She is described as being white, around 5ft 7ins tall, of medium build, with green eyes and straight brown shoulder-length hair.
'Her car was left at her home address and there have been no new transactions on her bank or credit cards.'
A man aged in his thirties was arrested on October 16 and was released on bail pending further enquiries until November 16.
About 200 people volunteered to help police carry out searches in the area near to Ms Wellgreen's home during last weekend.
