A LOCAL lottery has donated thousands of pounds to good causes in the area.

Portsmouth city councillor Lee Mason, chairman of Portsmouth Lottery Small Grants Funding Panel said: ‘We’re delighted to support local good causes, and the success of the Portsmouth Lottery has meant we’ve already been able to donate more than £5,500 at our very first funding panel. The lottery is all about good causes when cash is tight.

‘Portsmouth Autism Support Network, Portsmouth Down Syndrome Association and Portsmouth Area Rape Crisis are such important causes, offering much-needed support for families in the city.

‘In addition to the small grants funding panel, the lottery also has registered charities who receive a portion of ticket sales too.’

Community groups and good causes can apply for the next funding panel. For more information search Portsmouth Lottery small grants fund at portsmouth.gov.uk
