THERE were many shouts and ooh-arrrs as pirate celebrations were held at The Diving Museum in Gosport.
Over 130 visitors, mostly children, received an unconventional education in pirate speech, reading treasure maps, and an order to walk the plank.
Families from as far as Birmingham, Dorset and Leicester travelled to the pirate party with their children.
Museum officer Kevin Casey said: ‘The children loved the pirate adventure.
‘I think it’s the romanticism of pirate life that attracts them.’
The museum is run totally by volunteers and was this year rated as one of the top six family friendly museums in the country.
