Have your say

OUR pub of the Year competition is reaching its final stages – could your local be the winner?

The nominations are in and the Pub of the Year shortlist has been announced – 50 of the best pubs in the area hand-picked by you.

We asked readers of The News to tell us why their local was better than any other and the nominations came in thick and fast for venues from modern sports bars to cosy traditional pubs.

Some pubs were nominated for their great pints and bustling atmosphere while others made the shortlist for their quirky ambience and friendly staff.

The News received hundreds of nominations for dozens of pubs and now it’s time for you to vote for your favourite.

All you need to do is pick your best local from the shortlist and fill out the form in The News today and send it back to us by May 31.

Once the votes are in, the top three pubs will go before a panel of judges to decide the winner.

The winning pub will be presented with the Portsmouth Pub of the Year trophy by editor of The News Mark Waldron.

He said: ‘There are some great pubs on the shortlist for Pub of the Year.

‘I don’t know how the judges will be able to choose a winner but I look forward to seeing who makes it to the top three to face our judging panel.’

To make sure your local is in with a chance fill out the form below with the name of your favourite pub from the list on the left of the page and post it to: Pub of the Year, Promotions Department, The News Centre, Hilsea, Portmsouth PO2 9SX. Voting closes at midnight on May 31.
