PEOPLE are being encouraged to sign up to a 34-mile charity Swimathon.

The Mayor of Fareham, Councillor Trevor Cartwright, is urging people to join in to raise money for his chosen charities which are Toe in the Water, Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Warsash Wasps SFC.

People must swim 34 miles between them - the equivalent of swimming around the borough of Fareham.

Cllr Cartwright, said: ‘The swimathon suits all levels of fitness, ability and age, and there is still room for more people.’

The event is taking place on Sunday, February 5 between noon and 5pm, at The Spirit Health Club, Holiday Inn, Titchfield, Fareham.
