THE Gosport Silver Band is inviting eager musicians who wish to join to come along to their open rehearsal.

It will be taking place on Sunday, February 20, between 11.30am and 1.30pm, at Thorngate Hall, in Gosport.

The band is seeking a soprano cornet, and front and back row cornets, to finish their line-up.

As well as playing for various engagements around the borough and county, the band regularly enters contests and also runs a training scheme, teaching youngsters from the very beginning.

The band now has a number of home-grown senior band members, and is seeking youngsters aged nine and upwards to come along and join their learners’ scheme.
